Redefining Rescue

The Ohio Dobermans family is committed to excellence regarding dog training, human & dog relationships, and the overall success of the Doberman breed.   Our love for the breed extends beyond training and breed preservation, and includes the placement of Dobermans from various pedigrees - similar to a rescue.

Human circumstances such as divorce or death can unexpectedly uproot the life of a Doberman, and we step in to help find forever homes for these dogs whenever possible.  Upon arrival, they immediately receive any necessary veterinary care and obedience training, as well as desperately needed stability and companionship; connection with humans is central to the life of a Doberman.

Unlike a traditional rescue we do not operate on a budget of public donations, and so our fee is higher than a typical adoption fee, however there are many benefits to consider with our program:

• Health
We only accept Dobermans with a clean bill of health; none of them have any known cost-prohibitive or life-threatening medical issues, and all of them have been examined by our veterinarian and have received up to date, shots, dewormer, etc.

• Temperament
We only accept Dobermans with stable temperaments; none of them show signs of unprovoked or unexpected aggression.

• Application Process
Due to our thorough screening process for incoming Dobermans, the application process for potential homes is much less restrictive and invasive than a typical rescue.  This broadens the scope of potential permanent placements.

• Training
Our business is training dogs, and Dobermans are our specialty!  After you adopt one of the dogs below, we encourage you to let us design a training program to meet your training goals and budget.
